Lea was first drawn to yoga for stress relief but quickly fell in love with the practice as it helped her to find self acceptance, strength, and increased clarity. Lea completed her 200 hour certification with Astrid Santana in March of 2018.
Lea invites students to tune into what their bodies need from their yoga practice while encouraging them to challenge their limiting beliefs and explore postures that may not yet be in their comfort zones. Drawing from her own practice, Lea teaches ways to prop and modify challenging poses to make them more widely accessible.
When not teaching or practicing yoga, Lea studies number theory as a graduate student in the Department of Mathematics at Emory University. On weekends she also teaches at Emory Math Circle, an enrichment program for middle and high school students interested in math.
