Anya Fredsell

Anya participated in her first yoga class in utero. She joined DYP’s kids class in 2004 and in 2012, during high school, completed a 200hr teacher training with Joe Palese. She has since trained in Grounded Kids yoga with Cheryl Crawford, Yoga for Athletes with Sage Rountree, and Trauma-Informed yoga with Holle Black. Anya took her love for yoga to college where she studied religion and gender in contemporary yoga traditions and conducted ethnographic fieldwork in India during a year-long research fellowship. She is currently pursuing a master’s in South Asian religions at Emory while teaching and managing at DYP. Anya’s classes weave her knowledge of yoga history, philosophy, and alignment into playful sequences and mindful movements.
