Jessica Cummo

Pilates is Jessica’s passion! Jessica has been active all her life enjoying cheerleading, softball, dancing, cycling, weight training, running and yoga. Pilates fit right in with her active lifestyle. Soon after she began her Pilates practice, she realized the impact Pilates had on strengthening and preparing her body not only in daily activities, but also athletic activities.

Jessica takes an energetic, athletic approach to teaching Pilates and challenges her clients to help them reach and exceed their fitness goals. After seeing friends and family members suffer with pain and various injuries, she is also passionate about teaching others how to control movement, help alleviate pain, build core strength, increase range of motion and help prevent injury.

After graduating college in 2002, she began her career in the finance industry and in 2006 began traveling to serve her clients around the southeast. Jessica recognized how Pilates had a tremendous, positive impact on her body while traveling. Pilates quickly became her passion and she decided she wanted to help educate others on the numerous benefits Pilates can offer anyone, with any fitness or lifestyle needs.

Under the instruction of nationally known Second Generation Instructor Penelope Wyer-Barrow (trained by Romana Kryzanowska), Jessica pursued her 700 hour Pilates Certification including equipment and matwork from Urban Body Studios. She completed her certification in November of 2011 with over 700 hours of study including beginner through advanced level Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Electric Chair, Arm Chair, Pedi Pole, Ladder Barrel and Spine Corrector, specializing in Gratz Pilates equipment. During her Pilates teaching career, Jessica has also received continuing education hours training with other well-known instructors such as Brooke Siler, Kathryn Ross-Nash, Jay Grimes, Mari Winsor, Peter Fiasca, MeJo Wiggin, Dorothee VanderWalle, Dana Santi and Chris Robinson. In October of 2011, Jessica also received her TRX Suspension Training Group Course Certification.

Jessica resides in Decatur with her husband, Jeremy, daughter, Isabella and rat terrier Lucille.
